On April 22nd, the Nike Store at 21 Mercer in NYC held a special VIP screening of Kobe Doin' Work. Spike introduced the documentary on the Los Angeles Laker Kobe Bryant, which followed him throughout the course of a home game at the Staples Center against the San Antonio Spurs for the Western Conference title.
Spike took part in the Soho Apple Store Presents Meet the Director series that was partnered with the Tribeca Film Festival. The talk was moderated by the chief curator of the Museum of Moving Image, David Schwartz. Clips of the films that were screening at Tribeca, Kobe Doin' Work and Passing Strange, were shown and discussed.
Last night Spike Lee attended the opening night of the retrospective on his films at the Cinémathèque québécoise. There was a screening of Miracle at St. Anna and a Q&A that followed. Below are photographs from the event.
ImageNation presented Spike Lee with the 2009 ImageNation Revolution Award at Lincoln Center's Walter Reade Theater last night, February 26th. In addition to presenting the award, the 20th Anniversary of Spike's Do the Right Thing was celebrated and screened.
